Reed Tetzloff has a recording date with the great Steven Epstein in January
Updated: Nov 4, 2020
The project: Charles Ives’ “Concord” Sonata and Beethoven’s Op. 110.
The recording will be made at Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, Massachusetts. Mr. Tetzloff visited there recently, spent some time getting acquainted with the beautiful Steinway D piano, and declared the venue and piano perfect for his project.
Why Ives and Beethoven? Reed suggests that Ives needs to take his place among the great composers, and that these are fitting companions for his new CD. Ives was enormously inspired by Beethoven, and the Concord quotes from the 5th Symphony extensively.
